ANDY VAZ - People inside/- oOutside

asking a question like "Is Andy Vaz getting more rhythmic?" is rather irrelevant when standard references—save for the generalized 4/4—in Vaz's eclectic, broken-robot funk and often conceptually challenging awkward explorations marks the large differentiation he is willing to make from minimal techno's variants. People Inside/Outside (007) does nothing to contradict the above, but its hypnotic speech samples ("we outside, aren't supposed to feel inside," "and those on death row") correlate to an elevating rhythmic intensity, and adds to a suspense not previously encountered in Vaz. Granted its overall restraint, this is quite possibly the best Vaz release so far.
